Had a stressful day? Feel better fast by having a staring contest with your pet. In a study in the journal Hormones and Behavior, when dog owners maintained eye contact with their pets for about 2∏ minutes, they experienced a 20% spike in oxytocin, a feel-good hormone that sends away negative feeling and encourages calm and relaxation.
